Venezuelan content creator Leonel Moreno, better known on social media as “Leíto Oficial,” is reportedly among a group of nationals deported from the United States. They are expected to arrive at Simón Bolívar International Airport in La Guaira, Venezuela, in the coming hours.

This was reported by digital outlet Alberto News, citing reliable sources.

Moreno, 27, rose to notoriety on platforms like TikTok for his controversial videos, in which he allegedly encouraged other migrants to illegally occupy homes in the U.S.

His content sparked widespread criticism both inside and outside the Venezuelan migrant community.

Moreno was reportedly arrested in 2024 in Columbus, Ohio, after failing to attend multiple mandatory appointments with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

According to Alberto News, he had entered the U.S. irregularly on April 23, 2022.

He crossed the southern border at Eagle Pass, Texas.

Although initially released after entry, his failure to comply with immigration procedures led to his eventual arrest and deportation.

“Plan Vuelta a la Patria” and Mass Deportations

Leonel Moreno’s return comes as part of a new flight under the “Plan Vuelta a la Patria,” a repatriation program launched by the Venezuelan government to bring back citizens facing adverse conditions abroad.

This flight marks the seventh group of Venezuelans deported this year, and the first involving migrants from the United States.

The repatriation initiative has returned hundreds of Venezuelans in recent months.

On February 10, the first two flights arrived with 190 nationals from the U.S., followed by another group of 177 individuals from the U.S. military base in Guantánamo on February 20.

More Venezuelans Deported

On February 24, 242 Venezuelans were returned from Mexico, and between March 20 and 24, 311 and 199 nationals were repatriated from Mexico and Honduras, respectively.

The deportation of Venezuelan migrants highlights the complex challenges faced by many seeking better opportunities abroad.

In Leonel Moreno’s case, his story illustrates the risks of irregular migration.

As well as the legal consequences of failing to follow immigration laws.

Reactions to Leíto Oficial’s Deportation

Leonel Moreno’s deportation has triggered mixed reactions on social media.

While many criticize his behavior and content on TikTok, others express concern about the broader situation facing Venezuelan migrants and the hardships involved in deportation.

For now, Moreno and the rest of the deported group are expected to arrive in Venezuela Thursday night, marking yet another chapter in the complex reality faced by thousands of Venezuelan migrants around the world.
